QMF Construction was awarded the contract by Robson Civil Projects to carry out the construction of 3 lift shafts and various other concrete works on the upgrade of the Victoria Street Railway station. Originally opened on 5th April 1857, the station is located in the Lower Hunter Valley city of Maitland and serves the area of East Maitland.

Scope of works on this project included but was not limited to:

  • Lifts shafts
  • Retaining walls
  • Stairs
  • Footings
  • Ground slabs

Other aspects of the project included, working on the rail corridor, working at heights, working to strict time constraints to meet rail shutdown deadlines, working within a residential area so keeping construction noise to a minimum where possible.
